June:  Beaded Gourd Bowl with Sylvia Nelson
One day, June 10, 11:30am - 2:30pm
Workshop Fee:  $35 ; Materials Fee:  $12;  Minimum 4, Maximum: 10

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:  Participants will learn how to make a beautiful beaded gourd. Instructor will provide cut and cleaned gourds (from her garden) to work on. Participants will stain or dye their chosen gourd and apply a wax finish. They will then learn how to apply decorative beads around the rim of the gourd to complete their project.

Instructor will provide all materials.  Please bring sack lunch or snack.

July:  Watercolor Beyond the Basics (Intermediate/Advanced) with Sandy Ridley

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:  This class is open to all levels of skills.  A different watercolor will be taught each Wednesday using wet on wet as well as dry brush techniques and the student will complete a finished painting by the end of class.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:  Join us for a three hour workshop that just might change your life.  We're going to talk about the issues of low self-confidence, fear and jealousy that contribute to the image of the suffering, starving artist.  More important, we are going to learn how to get from there to the strength, courage ,trust, and joy that characterize the true nature of those who seek the beautiful and true in life.

Instructor will provide materialsStudents are required to bring two photos of your work (on phone OK), your artist statement, and a notebook, pen or pencil.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:  This workshop is designed to be a 2 day experience.  Drawing is a skill that can be learned - you just have to know how to see!  Learn to express yourself through drawing in a fun, non-judgmental atmosphere.  We will go through exercises that will build your confidence and allow you to enjoy the process of drawing!  

Students are required to bring one sketch pad no smaller than 14 x 16 inches. The teacher will provide the pencils and erasers

August:  Painting in Oil with Mary Meachum
3 Saturdays, August 4, 18 & 25, 12:00 noon - 2:30pm
Workshop Fee:  $60 per 3 day session; Materials Fee:  None;  Minimum 2, Maximum: 6

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:  This workshop is designed to be a 3 day experience.   Mary will teach in a group setting, allowing students to see techniques/concepts of oil painting.  The class will follow along with Mary on Day 1, learning techniques and laying the base for the painting.  Day 2 will continue on the same painting until completion on day 3.  All will take home a completed painting, each beautifully different in their own way.
