I was born in Brazil to protestant American missionary parents and I still hold dual citizenship. I dream of returning to that beautiful country some day. Besides Brazil I’ve lived in California, 4 Hawaiian islands, and Florida. I’ve moved often and had at least 33 different homes. I love adventure and travel and have been blessed to visit Canada, Mexico, England, Spain, France and Thailand. Yes, I live here in Sacramento County but I’m an island girl at heart. I love the tropics!
My two main fields of study have been marine biology and computer sciences. I’ve had many jobs from first mate on a glass bottom boat, to running national training programs for a multinational financial services company.
Art has been a love of mine since I was a child. Although I did not realize it until well into my adulthood, I struggle with dyslexia. School and learning have always been a great challenge. Art was and is my safe zone where I can be myself, work at my own pace, and use it as a tool for learning. About 20 years ago I discovered that if I created a painting to illustrate a theological truth that I remembered it much better. This has bloomed into a major theme for my bodies of work, to illustrate God’s Word.
