Thursdays, June 11th, 12-4 PM AND June 18th, 12-4 PM
Workshop Fee: $75. Materials Fee: $45
About the Workshop: Join us for a two-day workshop to carve and glaze a medium-size ceramic platter which can hang on a wall inside or outside, or be a beautiful addition to a custom table setting. Students will receive general information about clay art and learn specific techniques for carving and painting a functional piece of art. The first day will be spent forming and carving the clay platter and painting it with underglaze colors. The second day will be painting it with non-toxic color glazes. After it is fired in a kiln, the instructor will affix a wire for hanging the platter. You will be requested to pick up your finished piece from the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center one week later. All materials will be provided, including clay, tools, glazes, firing twice. No prior clay experience is needed.
Details: All materials will be provided. See Day 1 event listing to sign up for the class!
