The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center will hold their monthly Art Reception on Saturday, October 1, 2016, from 4-7 PM. Our Featured Guest Artist will be Michelle Vershaw, who will be giving painting demonstrations during the reception. Michelle is comfortable with a wide variety of media including pastel, watercolor, gauche, acrylic and oil. People provide a wealth of fascinating material for her work. She enjoys capturing a mood through portraiture, or conveying the dynamics of a group gathering. The casual daily setting of a cafe or garden, filled with interacting people, is the kind of setting that she depicts so well.
We will also be featuring Local Authors Elaine Faber, Shirley Parenteau and Gregg Ward Matson. These Featured Authors will be will be giving readings from their books, the night of the reception. Elaine's newest mystery, MRS. ODBODDY - HOMETOWN PATRIOT, Shirley's children's book, DOLLS OF HOPE, (The second in a planned series of four), and Gregg's detective novel, HEALTHY, WEALTHY, AND DEAD will be on sale at the gallery for the month of October.
Join us for the 1st Saturday Art Reception to meet the artist and Authors! Take part in our on-going Tile Fundraising event. Glaze a tile for installation on the entrance walls of the gallery. Four wall sections are completed, one more to go!
