Exhibit: The Joy of Watercolor

Join us for our exhibit, The Joy of Watercolor, featuring the students of Sandy Ridley's  Intermediate / Advanced Watercolor Class "Beyond the Basics".

FOCUS – Sandy Ridley teaches various techniques in Watercolor using different materials. Her students work towards creating a completed painting during the two hours the class is together. She supplies all needed materials so that the students may relax and have fun painting.

HISTORY – Sandy started taking weekly watercolor classes in 1989 with Artist Evelyn Wright (published in Who’s who in American Women Artist in 2000).  She studied at Ms. Wright’s studio for over 15 years. She has also taken workshops from artists such as Tom Fong, Lian Zhen, Joan Mckasson, and Linda Kemp.

Sandy first began teaching watercolor workshops at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center in 2011. In 2012, she started teaching biweekly classes.  These classes are currently scheduled on the 1st and 2nd Wednesday of each month, from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

STUDENTS – Walk-ins are always welcome!  The continued participation of long term students creates a friendly, social atmosphere.  Visitors to the gallery will be able to see the many paintings the students have completed in class, during the past two years. Each student’s skills have greatly advanced, and they all have become exceptional artists, expressing their “Joy of Watercolor”.
