Member Artist - Kim Smith
Art has been a part of my life since childhood, when I would amuse myself for hours with just crayons and paper. From grade school through college, I took a variety of classes including ceramics, painting and drawing, and learned to work with many mediums including ink, pastel, colored pencil, watercolor, acrylics and oils.
I graduated High School with a Fine Arts Minor, and attended Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Pursuing my studies further, I focused on graphic design and illustration and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration and Graphic Design.
I worked in the graphic design field for over twenty years creating logos and marketing pieces for a diverse clientele.
I recently rediscovered my passion for fine art and a love for watercolor. I have a home studio in Wilton, California, where I work predominantly from photo references and find inspiration from nature and my small ranch surroundings. I also paint commissioned portraits.
I am currently showing my original watercolor paintings in local gallery art shows in Sacramento, Elk Grove and Lodi and selling originals and limited edition giclee prints at local events.
