Amy Vidra is a mixed media artist living and working in California now. She was raised in small town Ohio where here escape and intrigue into the arts began and led her to receiving her B. F. A. in Photography/Video and Sculpture from The Cleveland Institute of Art. She has shown her work in several group shows nationally, and recently won the Best of Show in the 63rd Open International Exhibition, “Bold Expressions”.
Amy Vidra’s ink and acrylic paintings are recollections of landscapes, memories, and time. The relationships between color and form, negative space and markings, creates the flow of the piece. The “pods” transform the space and movement by the intricacies or saturation of each, creating static or absorption. Inspiration derives from complimentary contradictions and abstract interpretations of literal.
